Long have the craftsmen of lesser repute offered their wares from shelves of common make, fitting one pattern to many a purpose and calling it good. Here no such shortcut is taken. Each thing made in this house is made once, made with care, and made for the one who commissioned it — no other.

Of One Who Builds in the Old Way

Not a great guild. Not a house of many apprentices. One craftsman, one commission, one work made with full and undivided attention.

It is said in the old books that the finest things are made by those who love the making of them — and it has been so in this house. Jeremy Privett builds his web-craft by hand, setting down no borrowed pattern, no ready-made frame, but drawing each thing fresh from the brief he is given, that it may suit the one who commissioned it and no other.

In the second chair sits an intelligence of uncommon swiftness, trained upon the words of many ages; it drafts and refines and iterates at a pace no single pair of hands could match. Yet it is Jeremy who reads the work, who weighs each word and colour, and who sets his name to the finished thing.

He dwells in Cincinnati, in the land called Ohio, and works for any who come hither from whatever part of the world they may hail. By day he untangles the great machinery of healthcare; by night he builds things worth showing.

Of the Works That May Be Wrought in This House

Each commission is taken up in earnest, built without haste but without delay, and delivered whole and self-sufficient — a thing that belongs entirely to thee, now and in all the ages that follow.

Web-Craft of the Old School

No pattern taken from another's shelf, no device assembled from borrowed pieces. Each thing wrought here begins as a blank page and ends as a thing made solely for thee — shaped to thy voice, thy purpose, and thy folk.

  • Original design from naught
  • Typography fitted to the brand
  • Wrought for all manner of device
Craft Sharpened by Uncommon Arts

There exist in these latter days tools of marvellous speed and learning, and this craftsman hath mastered their use. They do not build; they amplify. Jeremy makes every judgement. The work is swifter; the quality, undiminished.

  • Copy refined by swift intelligence
  • Content shaped to the persona
  • Many iterations in little time
📦
The Self-Contained Scroll

One file shall be given thee, wherein all things are bound — every image, every letter-form, every moving part — needing nothing from outside itself. Place it where thou wilt upon the wide Web; it shall work.

  • Beholden to no outside dependency
  • Works on any server in the world
  • Thine to keep, wholly and forever
🔨
The Renewal of Faded Works

If thy house of web-craft was raised in an earlier and less careful age, and hath grown grey and shameful with the years, bring it hither. What is worth keeping shall be kept; what is not shall be cast off without sentiment.

  • An honest accounting made first
  • That which works is preserved
  • That which does not is unmade

Halls of Display

Thy work hath earned a worthy stage. For those who make things — painters, craftsmen, photographers, makers of any kind — a site built to show the work with the honour it deserves, and no less.

  • Gallery given pride of place
  • Images swift to appear
  • A means for seekers to write
The Single Page of Persuasion

One page to make the argument complete. Heading, evidence, a clear road forward. Wrought for those who have already earned their visitor's attention and need only not to squander it.

  • Copy shaped to persuade
  • Proof and good report included
  • One clear and unambiguous path

The Way of the Work: Hear → Forge → Deliver

Three stages, clearly ordered, with no committee to muddle them and no delays that serve no purpose. At the end, thou shalt have a thing that works — and know exactly what was done and why.

Hear It Told

Come and speak plainly of what thou needest. Thy rivals, thy misfortunes, thy hopes — tell me all of it, that I may understand not only the work but the world into which it must go. Naught shall be guessed at; naught assumed. We shall agree upon what is wanted before the first mark is laid.

Forge It Well

Then the labour begins in earnest. Code is set down by hand; the swift intelligence refines what may be refined. Every section is examined for the worth it carries. Every colour chosen for a reason. Every word of copy tested against the truth of what thou art.

III. 📦
Give It Over

One file, complete and self-contained, is placed in thy hands. It shall serve thee on any hosting service in the wide world, needing nothing further from this craftsman to go on working. The guide cometh with it. The revision doth not.

The Instruments Hanging Upon the Wall

There is no devotion here to any single tool or school of tools. The right instrument is taken up for the right work, and laid down again thereafter. Here is what hangs upon the wall at present.

⚙️
The Oracles of Language

Claude — both Sonnet and Opus — together with GPT-4o and carefully wrought systems of instruction. The machine setteth down the draft; the craftsman weigheth it, amendeth it, and setteth his name thereto.

🎨
The Glass That Shows Visions

Midjourney for the seeing of possibilities; Runway Gen-4 and Gen-4.5 for setting things in motion; Magic Hour for the faithful rendering of faces. Nothing wrought by these arts is shown to the world unseen and unjudged.

📜
The Written Code

HTML, CSS, and the tongue of JavaScript, set down by hand without the mediation of frameworks or borrowed scaffolding. The thing delivered is light, swift, and beholden to no library that might one dark day be abandoned.

The Work That Sharpens the Craft

By day, the great machinery of healthcare — Power Automate, the systems of Microsoft, the intricate logic of benefits and accumulators. It is painstaking work, and it hath made this craftsman precise in all things.

What Shall Be Given, and What Received in Return

Three arrangements are offered. Each is fairly priced against the hours it demands, and none carries a hidden surcharge nor any cost that was not spoken of at the outset.

The Lesser Commission
$1,500

Three to four pages of web-craft, each made by hand: a greeting, a showing of deeds, a means of contact, and the whole set upon the open web for finding. One round of amendment is given. Suited to personal brands, craftspeople, and those who have one clear and honest thing to say.

The Standard Commission
$2,000

A full commission of many rooms: a calendar for the receiving of appointments, moving works of image and sound woven within, and a branded system of letter and colour brought to high finish. Two rounds of amendment. The commission for a serious enterprise.

The Master Commission
$3,000+

All that the Standard holds, and beyond: custom movements of light and letter, woven integrations with the wider world, and the full craft of the maker turned upon a single purpose. Extended amendment. This is the commission for those who mean to endure.
